Akari
A five-chapter dawn walk through a Tokyo mountain temple — a real-time WebGL sanctuary where scroll, light and illustrated field notes move as one scene.

Akari is a self-initiated Fiden experience that treats a website as a place rather than a page. A visitor arrives at a mountain gate at dawn and walks five chapters — The First Light, The Torii, Still Gardens, Sacred Craft and Sunrise — through a real-time Three.js scene. Illustrated garden field notes, Japanese typography and chapter navigation sit inside the same environment, so reading and moving through the temple are the same action.

What we built
Scroll as choreography
The temple is a live scene, not a sequence of images: cedar gate, worship hall, moon and drifting petals are rendered in real time and lit for dawn, so the same view is never quite repeated. Scroll drives the walk — the wordmark parts, the gate rises, the gardens open into illustrated field notes, and the chapter rail keeps a reader oriented without leaving the environment. Restrained amber, ivory type and vertical Japanese lettering hold the composition together, and the experience stays legible on smaller viewports instead of collapsing into a scaled-down desktop layout.

A complete immersive experience, publicly live.
The deployed experience runs the full five-chapter walk in the browser: an opening dawn scene, the torii chapter, the still-gardens gallery, five sacred-craft field notes and a sunrise close — all inside one continuous real-time environment.
